Bomi County: Rurual Town Gets New School Building

The school was constructed by an international non-governmental organization, Plan International Liberia, through its program unit based in Bomi County.

The newly build school is located in Fefeh Town in Klay District, Bomi County

During the turning over ceremony held on November 23, Plan International Liberia Bomi County Program Unit manager, Rebecca Amara, expressed satisfaction in the completion of the project.

She said Plan International is committed and happy to support children’s education in the county.

“It has been a long journey and we finally have a school for our children and I must say that am delighted and happy for contributing to the education of the children in the county,” she said.

Amara urged residents and students of the town to make use of the school, noting that the building is a learning ground for future leaders of the county.

“This building you see standing here today is a place of learning for our future generation so I, therefore, encourage you to use it to the fullest,” she said.

Receiving the keys on behalf of the Ministry of Education and county leadership, Bomi County Development superintendent, Ernest Gray Davis thanked the international NGO for its intervention.

He told the citizens that the project was done through the efforts of the Liberian government.

“We want to say a big thank you to our partner Plan for this unique job. This project was done through our many advocacies to see that there is a school for our children in this community,” Gray said.

He lauded the effort of Plan International Liberia and promised that government through the county authorities will work in close collaboration with Plan to implement development projects in the county.

“Like we have always been saying, we will jointly collaborate with Plan and any other groups to implement development programs for our county,” he added.
