LNRCS denotes Materials and ECAP Ebola Training

The Liberia National Red Cross Society Grand Gedeh Chapter has embarked on the distribution of Anti Ebola materials in the County in an effort to buttressing the Liberian government to prevent the spread and stigmatization of the virus in the county.

About forty-eight schools, ranging from Nursery to Junior High levels benefited from the gesture.

According to the Chapter Focus person, the distribution is intended to give support to Schools in Grand Gedeh County for the prevention of Ebola during school days. Items denoted include: hand washing bucket, chorine, and soup among others

Lawrence Socker said, the LNRCS is a humanitarian organization that seeks the welfare of war affected population and Health disaster in every country.

He then called on the schools authorities and students to always observe the Ebola safety protocol and use the materials for the purpose.

Meanwhile some beneficiaries of the schools thanked Red Cross for the kind gesture and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.

A t the same time a four day intensive training organized by the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) for communities Radio journalists just ended in Zwedru Grand County.

According to one of the lead facilitators and consultant for Ebola Community Action Platform, the training was organized to mentor community radio journalists to disseminate anti-stigmatization and its prevention massages on the on the radio.

The ECAP consultant mentioned that with proper information about Ebola from journalist, stigmatization of survivals and spread of EVD can be curtailed.

Mr. Colta Dogbah has urged reporters to always give the right information on Ebola, adding with this the virus can be kicked out of Liberia as soon as possible.

His Participants are from four Counties in the south Eastern Part of Liberia to include: Maryland, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru and grand Gedeh Counties

Meanwhile, participants at the training thanked the organizers and said knowledge given them will be fully implemented.

A dell computer with an internet modern has been given to each community radio station to post SMS massages on Ebola rumors.

The training which stated on the Tuesday March 24 2015 is ended on the 27th of March.
