An “election promise” or “campaign promise” is a promise or guarantee made to the public by a candidate or political party that is trying to win an election. Across Liberia, politicians and political parties often make election promises during their campaign period - through their platforms or manifestos, as well as through public debates and on-the-record media interviews. The question is: Will those elected actually succeed in fulfilling their election promises? To ensure post-election accountability of elected candidates from the 2020 Special Senatorial Election, Local Voices Liberia is pleased to share its “Promises Tracker Page” – designed to record promises made by elected senators, and track their progress in fulfilling each one. This portal was made possible with support from Internews’ Liberia Media Development program, which is funded by USAID. manage this opened source portal populated with election promises of senators elected .
