Buchanan, Grand Bassa County – The head of a local advocacy group based in Grand Bassa County has expressed disappointment in some Liberian politicians, describing them as “untrusted and inconsistent” and must not be given state power.

Du-Ben Cleon of the Grass Root Advocacy for Social Justice (GRASS-J) claims that these politicians are not developmental oriented and “they lack the ability to change the people’s living standards in term of job creation, poverty reduction and education enhancement”.Cleon alleged that those seeking state power are associated with evil deeds but he expressed hope that God will prevent them from becoming representatives or president of the country.

Cleon alleged that some of those seeking state power are associated with evil deeds. However, he expressed hope that God will prevent them from becoming representatives or president of the country.

“It is time to vote out all of the useless politicians that have failed to impact your lives and bring in people that you think can help make the difference,” he told LocalVoicesLiberia in Buchanan recently.

“If you people vote for any kind of liar calling themselves politicians, we all coming to suffer for the next six years and the children of those elected will be enjoying out of this country.”

He also cautioned first-time voters in the ensuing October 10 elections not “to be carried away by the lies and deceptions by so-call politicians who only want to be president or representatives to the detriment of the suffering and poverty striking population”.

Cleon further encouraged the electorates to turn out in their numbers to elect candidates that can make the difference in developing the country.
