Manipulated Content: Viral Photo of Mr. Cummings and a Guy is Fake

There is a photo of the CPP Standard Bearer Alexander Cummings and a guy in a romantic position which is being shared to social media. However, the original image was manipulated to have the face of Mr. Cummings showing in the photo.

Local Voices Liberia iVerify Liberia team has researched a viral photo of opposition Collaborating Political Party Standard Bearer Mr. Alexander B. Cummings and found it to be fake.

The manipulated photo has been shared many times on Facebook.

We reached this conclusion by conducting a Reverse Image Search of the viral photo and found that the original photo was manipulated to have the face of the CPP standard bearer in the photo.

Our Reverse Image Search traced the photo’s origin to an article written by The Reckoning, which is CPN digital publication site, that focuses on stories about black LGBTQ+ Community.

The article, which was published in December 2021, discussed the love story of the two men in the original photo, Tony De’ Berry and Benie Gorde who found love in Atlanta USA.

Based upon these facts, we conclude that the viral photo of Mr. Cummings and guy seen in a romantic position was manipulated and the image is fake.
